| | ASSESSMENTS |
| | Although the student assessment involves some standard techniques, such as paper and pencil homework assignments |
| | (typically 1 or 2), most of the evaluation is based on computer problems, owing to the topic. There are a number (typically 3 |
| | or 4) of computer assignments to be completed in roughly a week, that address specific topics. There is also a writing |
| | assignment in which the student reads and critiques a paper on a relevant topic. Practice in computer vision concepts and |
| | system design is provided by a term project, conducted in teams and drawn from real-world applications. The project requires |
| | a formal, written report and an oral presentation to the class. |
