Starting ADS (default version)


  1. Log in to a Linux (DL557) in our department
  2. If you do not have an ads work directory first create one using:
    cd
    mkdir ads
  3. move to your ads directory
    cd ~/ads
  4. Setup the ADS environment for this login session:
    source /opt/local/ads/Startup.EE
  5. start ADS:
    ads

Starting ADS and Cadence

  1. Log in to a Linux workstation in our department
  2. cd ~/cadence/idf
  3. source /opt/local/cadence/Startup.EE
  4. source /opt/local/ads/Startup.EE
  5. icfb&

ADS and Cadence are also available for the Linux workstations. The same instructions will work under Linux, but many of the design kits are not currently available for Linux. If you will be using a design kit, check and see that it is available under Linux before choosing to work in the Linux lab.
