Security Policy: Passwords

In compliance with the MCSS, the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering has the following password policies:

1. Passwords must meet a minimum standard of complexity. They should use both upper and lower case characters as well as numerals and punctuation.
2. Passwords must be changed no less often than every 90 days.
3. Passwords may not be changed more often than once a day.
4. Passwords may not be repeated for at least 5 iterations. It is further recommended that they never repeat.
