The Design Course Projects
The purpose of the design projects is to allow senior electrical engineering
students the opportunity to gain experience working as an engineering team
in the development of a remote sensor project. Students are challenged
to design and build for a variety of applications, such as:
-
Wireless telemetry systems for sensor logging of OSU's engineered race
vehicles (Argus).
All of the projects involve interfacing sensors and actuators to microcontrollers
as part of an electronics platform that also contains a two way radio link
for sensor data communication and platform control. A user interface
objective is to communicate information, that it gathered, via a wireless
link to a PC which would serve as a gateway to the internet. The
information would then be made available to interested parties on the groups'
web page.
