ECE and IEEE Spring Picnic, Shirts and Whitewater Rafting Trip
The Spring Picnic is schedule for May 20th. T-shirts will soon be available with a design for all of us engineers. A sample will soon be made available for your enjoyment Finally, the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department will be planning a whitewater rafting trip towards the end of the quarter. Look for further information on all these topics within the coming months.
IEEE High School Engineering Outreach
Sponsored by Students for STEM, the IEEE OSU Chapter is involved in a community
service and outreach program designed to expose high school students to interesting
science projects such as audio equalizers, and paper speakers. For further information,
please contact Alex Katko or Betty Lise Anderson
High Voltage Electronics Club
High Voltage Electronics Club is a new student organization that focuses on
working on hands-on high voltage projects. This quarter we plan to construct
a small (approximately 2 foot) Tesla coil. Our eventual goal is to construct
a set of larger coils whose output frequency can be adjusted. In the future,
these coils will be used to play music at a charity concert hosted by the club.

About IEEE
Welcome to The Ohio State University IEEE Student Branch. Founded in 1884, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is currently the world's largest technical professional society. As a student member of IEEE many exciting opportunities are available to you. IEEE offers student members exclusive use of an online book purchase program, a convenient way to create a job profile to help in your search for a career, and many other services.
The student chapter faculty advisor is Paul Berger.
Mission Statement
The IEEE student organization helps students grow in the engineering process of creating, developing, integrating, sharing, applying knowledge about electrical, electronic, and information technologies, and sciences for the benefit of humanity and the profession. Locally, your student branch officers and faculty advisor are dedicated to creating opportunities for you to interact with the OSU faculty and the industry. Social activities involving students and faculty are organized to allow all Electrical Engineering students to learn more about each other and our professors. Information sessions occur to help students learn more about specific fields of Electrical Engineering and the type of careers that are available.
