02.21.08 -> Ohio Supercomputer Tour

The OSU-IEEE student chapter and OSC are proud to present a tour of the OSC facility, located on west campus at 1224 Kinnear Rd. The OSC has partnered with Ohio universities and industries to focus on providing computational research and education, serving as a key enabler for the state to achieve its aspirations in advanced technology, information systems, and advanced industries. OSC provides the supercomputing needs of research, for example, the vector processing for weather modeling and using parallel processor clusters for better understand of deep space. OSC also provides massive and scalable bandwidth which includes more than 1,600 miles of backbone network to there extended base clients, from colleges and hospitals to public broadcasting. We will meet at 3:50pm, Thursday Feb. 21 at the front desk which is located through the main doors of the north side of the building. Students can easily make the trip out to west campus by riding one of the available CABS buses (North Loop, South loop, or North Express).
