Electronic and Optical Characterization Laboratory
This comprehensive laboratory houses a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities to characterize the optical, electronic and transport properties of semiconductors and to characterize theelectronic and optical responses of devices. Critical properties such asbandgaps, luminescent transitions, carrier concentrations, carrier mobilities, diffusion lengths, scattering mechanisms, quantum efficiencies and other attributes typically needed to understand the overall behavior of advanced electronic materials, optoelectronic and photovoltaic devices can be measured, modeled and evaluated in this lab, which also contains a range of electronic test equipment that can be configured for multiple experiments.

Major Facilities:

  • Photoluminescence

  • Hall Effect

  • Spectral Response

  • Light and Dark I-V/T

  • Solar cell photoresponse

  • Device simulation/modeling
