Sadly, because I receive so many such requests, I cannot read individual resumes and evaluate your probability of admission. I encourage you to apply, and indicate CLEARLY your primary research interest(s).

If you are seeking a research assistantship, I generally select candidates from among those students who have already been accepted to OSU. When I have research assistant positions open, I generally go through the files of applicants or admitted students, sort them by specialty/interest area, then go through those. Some of my funding requires American citizenship.

If you send me your resume before applying, you'll probably get a form letter back. For security reasons I can not open any attachments to email, so if you send me such a document I will not see it. Once you have been admitted to OSU, send me your credentials as part of the text in an email.

If you are seeking a teaching assistantship, those are administered by the department, not by the individual faculty. There is a place on the application form to indicate an interest in those.

I hope this answers your questions, and I hope you will choose Ohio State.
