Projects

1. Bluetooth application:
In Summer 2004, I worked under the guidance of Dr.T.G.Venkatesh and studied the Bluetooth Protocol Stack and its JSR-82 specification. Using this JSR and the J2ME wireless toolkit I wrote an application which would backup SMS received on a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone on a PC having a Bluetooth USB adapter.

2. Artifact suppression in corrupted videos:
I worked on a concealment algorithm to suppress artifacts in corrupted videos and demonstrated it to a large audience at Shaastra 2005 as a part of the DSP workshop. I have uploaded a zip file containing the code and the video on which I worked. I plan to upload some photos of the presentation in due course of time.

3. Internship at Air2web Private Ltd., Chennai:
In Summer 2005, I was an intern at Air2web for a period of 3 months. I developed J2ME applications for GPRS enabled mobile phones. Click here to access a detailed report of the work that I had done during my internship.

4. Study on Personal Area Networks:
Following my project on the applications for wireless devices, I took up a self-study on Personal Area Networks including Bluetooth, IEEE 802.11, Wi-Fi, WiMax and others, under the guidance of Dr.T.G.Venkatesh. The focus was on studying the protocol stack. You can view the pdf version of my report here.

5. B.Tech Thesis - Bend it Like Murali:
Currently I am working under the guidance of Dr.R.Aravind on image segmentation techniques to determine the angle of bending of a Cricket bowler's arm to determine whether he is chucking or not. I have found this project different, interesting and having a practical application. Please keep checking this site for updates on my work.
