Research
John Hu's research interest is power management integrated circuit design.
More specifically, he is interested in desiging external capacitor-free low-dropout regulators (LDO). External capacitors takes up a large amount of space on the board and increase the Bill-of-Material (BoM). In an SoC environment when LDOs are employed in large numbers, capacitor-free solution is extremely attractive.
In addition, he investigates the feasibility of integrating DC-DC converters on the same die with analog and RF circuits.
John Hu is an IEEE Student Member and a member of IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society. His Ph.D. adviser is professor Mohammed Ismail.
