Education
Ph.D. in electrical engineering, 1974, M.S.E.E.,
1970, B.E.E., 1969, The Ohio State University.
Current Position
Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Research Interests
Dr. Newman's research involves the application of integral
equation and method of moments (MM) techniques to
electromagnetic radiation and scattering problems. He is the
primary author of the "Electromagnetic Surface Patch Code"
(ESP 5),
which is a user-oriented code capable of modeling
general shapes as an interconnection of wires, polygonal plates, and
polygonal dielectric volumes. Other areas of current research
include radar cross section control, antenna optimization, EM shielding,
wideband impedance matching, and automatic DOA array calibration.
