SHORT BIO


Fernando Lisboa Teixeira received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Brazil, in 1991 and 1995, respectively, and the Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1999. From 1999 to 2000 he was a Postdoc with the Research Laboratory of Electronics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 2000 he joined the faculty of the ElectroScience Laboratory (ESL) and Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, The Ohio State University (OSU), where he is now Associate Professor.

His current research interests include electromagnetic modeling, ultrawideband inverse scattering, electromagnetic sensors, nanophotonics, and metamaterials.

Dr. Teixeira received a number of awards for his research including the NSF CAREER Award in 2004 and the triennial USNC/URSI Booker Fellowship in 2005. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and Elected Member of Comissions B and F of URSI. He was the Guest Editor for the Progress in Electromagnetics Research (PIER) Series volume 32 on Geometric Methods for Computational Electromagnetics (Cambridge, Mass.: EMW Publ., 2001) and is currently an Associate Editor for the IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters. He has served as chair of the Joint IEEE MTT/AP-S Columbus Chapter, and has been an invited speaker in a number of international conferences.
