ECE students excel at IEEE Student Activities Conference
The nine team members representing the IEEE OSU Student Chapter at the conference were: Syra Arif, Andrew Baster, Eric Cheung, Jose Gutierrez, Tejas Kataria, David Leonard, Amritesh Rai, Kate Scherer and Tommy Summers. Eric Cheung is the Region 2 Upper West Student Representative and helped organize the team’s participation.
The award winners from the Ohio State team were:
- The entire team won first place in the t-shirt competition
- Tejas Kataria and Kate Scherer won second place in the ethics competition which judged the creativity and ethical soundness of the team’s solution to a presented ethical dilemma.
- Amritesh Rai won second place in the physics competition, which involves presenting an analytical solution to a physics problem and verifying the same using practical means.
Winning students received certificates and Microsoft products and the ethics competition had a cash prize.
