Learn how ECE faculty, students and alumni are making a difference
Learn how the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is building upon its award-winning Integrated Sophomore Experience (ISE), a series of revamped lab courses piloted in 2010 and transforming the way its undergraduate students are educated in laboratory courses in the autumn 2012 issue of Bits & Sparks, the alumni newsletter for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Other highlights of the autumn 2012 issue include:

  • Clymer Receives Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching: Bradley Clymer, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and biomedical informatics, received a 2012 Ohio State Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching.

  • Paper Speakers Bring Music to the Ears of Future Engineers: Nearly 300 seventh-grade students at 24 Columbus schools were able to play their favorite music through speakers made of paper, wire and magnets, thanks to an innovative program designed by Ohio State ECE students and faculty, in collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.

  • Sebo Still Passionate After 44 Years: Professor Emeritus Steve Sebo’s interest in engineering began when he was very young and his father took him to visit a nearby train station. Learn why Sebo is still passionate after 44 years at Ohio State.
