Cindy Flores, administrative associate I, retired on November 30, 2012, after 34 years of service to The Ohio State University. Flores spent thirty of those years working in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Flores joined the ECE department in 1979 as a technical typist. She served many roles during her tenure, and eventually coordinatedhuman resource activities for the department including payroll, vacation and sick leave documentation, hiring, transferring appointments, fee authorizations, immigration paperwork, Fellowship requests, processing release time, and maintaining personnel files.

At a celebration held in her honor, colleagues commended Flores for being a staunch student advocate throughout her tenure.

“Cindy has always been an advocate for students. If a student got in trouble she would always go way out of her way to try and solve the student’s problem,” said Robert Lee, chair of electrical and computer engineering. “In many ways she has been a mother figure to our students, as well as a counselor to our faculty and staff.
