While at The Ohio State University, Electrical and Computer Engineering alumnus Edgar Paul Casale earned his BSEE in 1986, MSEE in 1996 and PhD in 2001. Today, he excels as a Senior Engineer at S&C Electric and is also a Senior Lecturer for the Department of Engineering Education at Ohio State.

Casale's primary work areas include model development/implementation/validation, transient and dynamic simulations, application of energy storage systems, system impact studies, and renewable energy integration, among others.

As a Senior Engineer for the Consulting and Analytical Services department at S&C Electric Company, he has over 20 years of work experience with a strong emphasis on transmission expansion planning, system reliability assessment, large‐scale power system modeling/simulation, and FACTS applications. At S&C, he manages model development, testing, and implementation for PSS®E and PSLF platforms. He is an IEEE Senior Member and a CIGRE member. He has been the Secretary of IEEE/PES Dynamic Performance of Renewable Plants Working group since 2012 and has conducted several presentations and panel sessions at IEEE/PES conferences.
