Two ECE students earn best paper awards

Two Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate students recently received   awards for their papers at recent events.

Ezdeen Elghannai, a student instructional assistant at the ElectroScience Laboratory, received the second-place best paper award at 2014 Allerton Antenna Applications Symposium, held Sept. 23-25, 2014. His paper, written with Professor Roberto Rojas, was titled, “UHF RFID Tag Antenna: Analysis and Design Using Theory of Characteristic Modes.”
 
Shubhendu Bhardwaj, a graduate research assistant at the ElectroScience Laboratory, will received the second-place best student paper award for the AMTA 2014 conference, Oct. 22-26, 2014 in Vancouver, Canada. His paper, “Novel Phaseless Method for Gain Characterization of Circularly Polarized Operating in the mm-Wave and  THz Bands,” was coauthored by Ohio State Research Scientist Niru K. Nahar and Professor John L. Volakis.
